HOLY WEEK ACTIVITY SHEETS FOR CHILDREN
As we approach Holy Week very soon Canon William is sending a bumper pack of activities for the children of the parish and we would like everyone to get involved sharing lovely pictures on our YouTube channel for the following celebrations: Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. All your photographs should be scanned and emailed to Hannah: email@example.com no later than THURSDAY 25TH MARCH so we have enough time to prepare all your pictures for each celebration. Our YouTube channel can be accessed via the parish website: stanselmstbec.org and on the home page scroll down to the Quick Link for the YouTube Channel where you will find the celebrations.
Palm Sunday, 28th March 9am live stream Mass (photographs will be shared during the gathering music before the 9am Mass for our virtual procession and if we have a really good response we may also have to share these at the end of the Mass – remember to log on a few minutes before 9am so you don’t miss any of the pictures). Activity sheet for Palm Sunday is attached and a palm leaf to colour and cut out (all the details are explained in the sheet), alternatively you can just take a family photograph in the garden waving some branches or placing a cloak on the ground like all the people welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem, as if you are joining in the procession. Photographs must be taken in LANDSCAPE orientation with no name added.
Good Friday, 2nd April ‘Children’s Way of the Cross’ will go live at 12 noon on our YouTube channel (stanselmstbec.org and for access go to the YouTube quick link half way down the home page to find the link). Attached you will find two activity sheets of the Stations which can be coloured in and a photograph taken to send in, or perhaps take a photograph of your child(ren) either praying or acting out one of the Stations of the Cross. Photographs must be taken in LANDSCAPE Orientation with no name added.
Easter Sunday, 4th April 9am live stream Mass (photographs will be shared during the gathering music before the 9am Mass and if we have a really good response we may also have to share these at the end of the Mass too – remember to log on a few minutes before 9am so you don’t miss any of the pictures. Activity sheets attached to be coloured in one or maybe both and take a photograph of you holding the pictures to send in to us to share during the live stream. Photographs must be taken in LANDSCAPE ORIENTATION with no name added.
INSTRUCTIONS & DEADLINE FOR SENDING ALL THE PICTURES – all photographs must be taken in landscape orientation as this works for the banners we prepare for the live stream. It would help us if you would scan all pictures at the same time to Hannah: firstname.lastname@example.org no later than THURSDAY 25TH MARCH, 5PM.
We really look forward to seeing as many pictures as possible for us to share with our parish family over the Holy Week period. You really make a difference to everyone tuning in to our live stream Masses and celebrations, and Canon William is especially grateful to all your wonderful creative and artistic gifts. All the activity sheets can be found on the parish website under the ‘Newsletter’ heading on the homepage in a subpage titled ‘Holy Week Activity Sheets for Children’.
With every blessing to you and all your families during this Holy season of Lent.
On behalf of Canon William Hebborn, Parish Priest
